un_rap's back story:
we opened in July 2018 with the dream to supply Falmouth with sustainable choices. The idea for a zero waste shop was born on a 500 mile plastic-free hike undergone by the founder of un_rap, Hannah.
Having visited Malaysia & Indonesia & seen islands filled with plastic pollution, Hannah was determined to raise awareness of the issue. She hiked to raise money for Surfers Against Sewage & prove that people can live without producing waste. She was astounded at the impact one individual could make & came home with the plan to open a shop that sold sustainable solutions & empowered a community.

the idea for un_rap came to me whilst hiking El Camino de Santiago - a 500 mile trek in Spain. In August 2017 I hiked the trail to raise money for Surfers Against Sewage & raise awareness of plastic pollution. I completed it in 26 days whilst avoiding all single-use plastics. The journey made me realise the impact one individual can have when striving for change. One morning in a hut on the side of the trail, a man asked me some very difficult questions & I left there knowing I would open a plastic-free shop in Falmouth - providing solutions, following my dream & building a community. I completed a one year Primary School teaching course whilst setting up the shop too - it was a big year! For more details why not attend one of my talks, invite me to speak at your school/community group, or pop in & say Hi...
